Mason’s Trowel was painted to be seen on two levels: at close range the image is obscured, one sees only the garish automotive enamel paint splashed over raw corrugated steel. Many passersby miss the subject and react solely to the surface.<\/p>\n
Secondly, from inside the Park, the image comes into focus as a growing steel-nosed tool watch-dogging the art park. A symbol of development serving as a reminder of the unsecured status of the Park itself.<\/p>\n
