Organized by Socrates\u2019 Special Events Team and in conjunction with the 2022 Artist Fellows, join us for New Agora: Sink or Swim Climate Futures on September 10th to celebrate the opening of The 2022 Socrates Annual. Be the first to see five newly commissioned artworks by this year’s Socrates Sculpture Park Fellows, as they present a unique perspective in response to addressing the urgency, enormity, and challenges of climate change. Join us to hear directly from the artists, with an exhibition walkthrough and Q&A, an activation of Ticnu by 2022 fellow Koyoltzintli, and a self guided scavenger hunt that explores the artworks and the park.<\/p>\n

AH-YES Program – six teens from Queens – teamed up with Director of Education Douglas Paulson to design and build a green roof here at Socrates Sculpture Park. Visit the rooftop, talk to its builders, and learn about our process.\u00a0 See how a few teens from Queens have taken direct action in NYC’s built environment to help make a more sustainable city.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\nHear directly from the 2022 Annual Artist Fellows about their projects at Socrates Sculpture Park followed by a public Q & A.\u00a0Koyoltzintli will activate her piece Ticnu, through a ceremony of sound and smoke. She will use her clay instruments to offer a sonic prayer to activate the piece.<\/p>\n
