Bring a picnic basket and come early for a kids and classics workshop followed by the performance of Hamlet.<\/p>\n<p>4:30 pm &#8211; Kids &#038; the Classics Children\u2019s Workshop<\/p>\n<p>Kids &#038; the Classics is the companion piece to Hip to Hip\u2019s program of &#8220;Free Shakespeare in the Parks.\u201d This free interactive workshop is offered 30 minutes before every performance, and is designed for children ages 4 to 12. It gives children a chance to interact with the text by previewing the characters and situations, and creating links between the text and their own lives through theatre games and close reading of text. <\/p>\n<p>5:00 pm &#8211; Hamlet<\/p>\n<p>Shakespeare&#8217;s masterpiece revenge tragedy is a political thriller for the ages. As Denmark arms itself for war, the royal family tears itself apart. Young prince Hamlet is driven to the edge of madness when his murdered father\u2019s ghost demands he avenge his death and claim the throne.<\/p>\n<p>About Hip to Hip Theatre Company<br \/>\nHip to Hip Theatre Company was founded in 2007 by Queens-based actors Jason and Joy Marr, who wanted to share with the community their enthusiasm for great plays, the works of Shakespeare in particular.
