This project is an adaptation of a photograph by the Wilsons translated into a 10′ x 28′ seamless vinyl billboard. The image is from a new body of work created following a two-month residency with the Sofa Gallery and the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. Photographed in the sanatorium of Queen Mary’s hospital in Hammer, the image is inspired by archival photos of ladies exercise classes from 1910.
