Your support makes it possible for artists to experiment at scale, for neighbors and visitors to experience contemporary art freely, and for the Park to steward this reclaimed waterfront home for future generations.

Socrates relies on a community of supporters—including individuals, foundations, and corporate partners—whose generosity ensures that the Park remains free and open 365 days a year while enabling ambitious artistic projects and public programs to thrive.

Socrates is an independent non-profit organization that is 100% reliant on fundraising to maintain and program the New York City public park that so many call home.

The Devra 
Freelander Fund

Established in 2019 in memory of artist Devra Freelander, The Devra Freelander Fund supports The Socrates Annual Fellowship & Exhibition. Each year, one participating artist is named the Devra Freelander Artist Fellow, celebrating Devra’s adventurous spirit and her commitment to sustainability, identity, and feminism.
